Affective Interactions (LLC) is a not-for-profit Research and Development think tank focused on developing Affective Systems in order to make affective (emotionally aware) interactions been humans and machines a reality.
AI provides consulting services in the fields of Affective Computing, Flight Simulation, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Wearable Technology on a limited basis.
What is an Affective interaction? “An affective human-computer interaction is one in which emotional information is communicated by the user in a natural and comfortable way, recognized by the computer, and used to help improve the interaction.” (Dr. Rosalind Picard, MIT Media Lab, the progenitor of the field of Affective Computing).
Affective Computing is the study and development of systems and devices that can recognize, interpret, process, simulate, and respond to human affects (i.e. human emotions). It is an interdisciplinary field spanning computer science, psychology, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science.
Affective Design emerged from the field of affective computing. Affective Design is the development of interfaces designed to enable human-computer interactions in which emotional information is communicated by and/or to a user in a comfortable and non-intrusive way. The Affective System processes the emotional information and may adapt and/or respond to improve the interaction
